In the 1957 version, there was an all white-man jury to decide whether the boy was guilty or not. The boy was also white and seemed immature like he did not know what was going on. The boy was convicted of killing his father. Out of the all-white jury, only one man thought he was innocent. There was a doubt in his mind that there was just no way that this had committed murder. They argued and argued and argued for hours until they got the one man who thought all along that the had done it. In the 1997 version, there were not only white men but black men too. The boy convicted of killing his father was Hispanic. That really changed the way I looked ....
