Senior Citizens and Driving Tests I am presenting this to the council in order to propose a feasibility study on Driving Tests and the Elderly. I believe that it should be a law requiring people over the age of 70 to take a driving test every 4 years. From this proposal I hope to get the support and backing of the council to make this a law. There is a definite problem on the roads these days and it isn’t teenagers, it is the elderly. These people, as good of drivers they may have been, do not have the proper attention and reaction time it takes to keep an automobile safely on the road. This is a problem that affects everybody everyday. With some of these people still driving it creates a definite hazard not only to other drivers but also pedestrians, and with a local person who is too old for driving this could be a regular problem.
