The Northwest Ordinance of 1787 On July 13, 2000, the US will celebrate the 213th anniversary of the signing of the Northwest Ordinance of 1787, which established the current states of Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan and part of Minnesota. All of the political beliefs and practices of Republicanism were attempted to be established for each of the new territories.
