Southeast Asia Geographically, Southeast Asia’s composition of islands and peninsulas resembles many of the world’s most highly economically developed areas such as Great Britain, Japan, South Korea, Italy and Taiwan; nonetheless, most of Southeast Asia lies in economic dispair.
